About the Games – Bahrain 2025 Asian Youth Games
The Asian Youth Games (AYG) is a multi-sport event held every four years. The third edition of the AYG takes place in Bahrain from 22 to 31 October 2025. Featuring 26 sports across various disciplines, the AYG attracts over 4 000 young athletes, aged 14 to 18, from more than 45 countries and regions across Asia. This edition of the AYG serves as an important platform for young athletes to showcase their talents and compete for qualification for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. At the same time, the AYG nurtures more emerging athletes as they prepare to take on greater challenges, including the Asian Games and the Olympic Games.

Emblem
The emblem of the Bahrain 2025 AYG features the word "Bahrain" written in Arabic, the official language of the host country. Interwoven with the iconic sun symbol of the Asian Games, the emblem takes the shape of a flame that symbolises the Olympic spirit. The design reflects both Bahrain's cultural heritage and the shared vision of unity across Asia.
Presented in vibrant colours, the emblem's dominant red prominently highlighting Bahrain's national identity, while the other colours represent the cultural diversity of the participating countries and regions. Together, they celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and inclusivity on the grand stage of the AYG.
Mascot
Shehab
"Shehab" originates from a traditional Bahraini name and represents a dynamic, youthful Arabian oryx. The design embodies unity, strength, resilience and ambition, inspiring young people to pursue excellence in both sports and life.
Shehab's sports attire incorporates elements of the Bahrain AYG emblem, symbolising the relentless pursuit of dreams and the competitive spirit of young athletes participating in the Games.
